This week, we have had a number of visitors into our class.
In Science, we welcomed Zoolab into school to link to our Evolution and Inheritance topic. Dominique, our wonderful host, showed us a number of different animals and explained how they have adapted to their environment. She even linked back to our prior topic of the Amazon. We were fascinated to see and even hold the animals!
We were all so brave and showed the school value of courage! We especially loved the Giant African Land Snail and the snow cornsnake.
In History this week, we learnt about how the Arabian army conquered the Persian and Roman/Byzantine empires. We learnt about the skillful warriors, the element of surprise used and the tactics they used.
We particularly enjoyed creating a news report about our learning!
On Wednesday, we were lucky enough to have Game On to visit. They spoke to us about racism, extremism and heritage.
We played games to learn about how to can protect ourselves and our community.
Travon said “racism is when you judge others on their skin colour without getting to know them.”
Brianna said “everyone is equal, it doesn’t matter where you’re from, what you look like or what religion you follow.”
