Forest School is a specialised learning approach that sits within and complements the wider context of outdoor and PE education.
Forest School is an inspirational process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees. In the school’s case, in our Forest School learning area.
The activities are diffirentiated through the year groups. In forest school the lessons focus on; Tool use, Craft with natural materials, Team building, Wildlife knowledge/identification, Appreciating the outdoors and Keeping oursleves safe outdoors.
Sessions will take place in all weather conditions and will be delivered by Ms Barker (Forest School Lead) alonmgside of your child's classteacher.
Please ensure that your child comes to school dressed in an outside PE kit, a warm coat and a change of shoes for Forest School to reflect the weather for the season.

This week Y5 had a fantastic PE lesson, starting their forest schooling with Miss Barker! It’s truly a unique experience and the children loved getting the chance to learn how to tie knots and using this skill to make frames out of sticks. We can’t wait for the next lesson!
Marble rolling and leaf rubbings
Today we stayed inside for Forest School as it was so cold outside. We used conkers and paint to create pieces of art using conker rolling and we also used dry leaves to create leaf rubbings. We had lots of fun!
