In English lessons this week, we have been using conjunctions to extend our sentences and looking at alternative vocabulary to use to write an alternative setting to our story. We have discussed various nouns, adjectives and adverbs to describe our new setting - at an airport, instead of at a train station.
In Maths, we have been continuing with our division, dividing by 5 and attempted word problems linked to division. We have selected amounts of money and worked hard to find the total (adding amounts of money) and the correct change. Puffins used plastic coins to help them with their money challenges.
In Science, we looked at the lifecycle of a hen and made some comparisons with the lifecycle of a butterfly. Puffins were particularly fascinated by the video clip of the chicks hatching from the eggs in the incubator.
We used playdough and plastic knives to help us with our cutting skills in our DT lesson. The children used the playdough to create their own salad items and could describe in details the various ingredients they had put in their pretend salads.
In History, we studied Amelia Earhart, the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
