Design and Technology
Today we took part in a DT day, with the aim of creating our very own juggling balls. We researched existing products, designed our own patterns and decorated our socks ready to sew.
Feature Finders
Today we started a new genre! We’re focusing on writing a non-chronological report. We looked at lots of examples and made our own checklist of the features we need to include.
Latin Learners
Today we used roleplay to act out a storyboard in Latin! We used what we already knew to build on our knowledge to translate and practise in our pairs.
Sensational Sewing
Year 3 tried something new today - we used a needle and thread to add to our seascapes in art. Using white, blue and green thread we created patterns to add to our wonderful artwork. We found it tricky and a little bit fiddly but we showed determination and made great progress. Well done!
Super Scientist
In Year 3 we have been learning about Vertebrates and Invertebrates. Look at this amazing learning from one of our Turtles! We sorted animals using the iPad to help and explained how animal’s skeletons are different.
Canvas Painting
Today we began creating our art inspired by textile artists by painting our sea inspired background on fabric. We found it tricky at first but the results were great!
Children in Need
Look at our amazing outfits to celebrate Children in Need! We enjoyed wearing our Pudsey ears and learning about the charity. Thank you for everybody’s donations.
Latin Fun
Today we looked at the link between feminine and masculine nouns and adjectives in Latin! I’m so impressed with how well we’re doing at learning this tricky language.
Amazing Adjectives
Today we looked at an interesting character in our story - Captain James Hook. We watched videos of him and read extracts from various stories to understand what he is like as a character.
We then thought of adjectives to describe his personality but used our iPads to make these even…
Character Description
Today we were detectives, looking at examples of a character description ready to write our own. We enjoyed finding all of the features and made our own checklist to refer to next week.
Interesting Investigation
Today we took our science lesson outside to investigate ‘Do people with longer femurs jumper further?’
We measured our femurs and jumped as far as we could to investigate if the length of the bone affected our ability to jump. Next lesson, we will analyse the results and come up with our…
Mosaic Storyboard
Today we read a story from the Hindu religion. We each had a different section to illustrate before putting them together to create a huge storyboard. Our drawings showed we understood the story and we were very proud of the results.
