At Waterside, we ensure that all children have full access to the wider curriculum and run alongside of this short and accessible interventions to support children with SEND in all parts of life.
Many children attend our early morning interventions from 8.30 until 9 where they work in small groups to scaffold their learning in class - this may be reading, maths, phonics or writing based. During the afternoon child may spend 5-10 minutes with a 1:1 support developing key skills such has, spelling, times tables, fine motor, speech and language, memory games.
The children enjoy and feel that these interventions have helped them and pupil voice is collected each half term to ensure that the interventions not only meet their need but also to gather the children's interests.
At Waterside we pride ourselves on delivering quality first teaching in the classroom and through our interventions. All TSA's receive quality training which is planned based on needs of the children and through staff questionnaires.
