To all parents and carers,
Well what a fantastic two weeks we have had. The children have been exploring the woods on outdoor education, participating in Anti Bullying workshops, exploring friendship and dealing with and reporting different types of bullying. I am so proud of all of our children who through performing arts, writing and media work can share such understanding of important messages. We have also been recording our Sentinel application for the Christmas song, the amazing singing superstars have achieved over 11,700 views.
We have many visitors coming to Waterside to look at our curriculum and the sensational teaching and learning of Waterside. We also had a visit from Shaw Education Trust, a multi academy trust, who reviewed the school and it current performance last week. This does not mean we are becoming an academy immediately, but we are discussing the benefits to Waterside, especially our children – who come first in all we do. More information will be sent to parents about potential academy conversion.
As you will see, the building work is well underway. The building is approx. 4-6 weeks away from completion. However, as part of the new extension – we are linking the buildings with the canopies. Therefore, the current ramp – KS1 and 2 entry is to be closed from tomorrow. This will cause a significant inconvenience, but it is essential for us to start in January with the school operating and all new classrooms in use. Therefore, all children from Tuesday 26th November will use the main school entrance. (See separate letter)
Should you have any questions or concerns come and see myself, a senior leader or the class teacher immediately.
