We have been exploring plants all week and the children were very excited to plant their own. We looked at what we would need as a group and named the different resources ‘seed, pot, soil, watering can, trowel’, we then wen to collect our resources in small groups, recapping the correct names and ensuring we use these during our activity.
We then looked at the simple steps of planting a seed and followed the instructions in our groups. We loved using the trowel to collect soil and fill our pot hallway. We planted our seen and pressed it down into the soil. We then had to cover the seed with soil again. We watered the plant and put it outside for some fresh air. We look forward to watching them grow overtime and observing the changes.
