Using body part labels to label our friends
In science we are learning about humans, this week we have been learning about body parts. Some children worked in groups to label each others body parts.
Marvellous Maths in Sealions- Sorting objects
Today we have done some excellent maths in Sealion class, we were given a variety of objects which we then had to sort in as many ways as we could. We were able to sort the objects by colour, shape, size and catergory.
Wild or Garden plant?
We have really enjoyed our Science topic on plants so far! Take a look at us exploring the school grounds for wild plants and garden plants. When we got back to the classroom we recorded our findings by drawing the plants we saw and labelling them.
Beeston Castle
Today we enjoyed a visit to Beeston Castle where we applied all of our learning on Pre-historic times.
Forest School Fun!
For our last Forest School session this academic year, we celebrated by enjoying a toasted marshmallow, more den building (this is our favourite activity), mud painting and chalking. The children truly do thrive in outdoor learning!
Moving Pictures!
We have explored using a mechanism to make a picture move. We made a lever using card and held it in place with a split pin pivot. I cannot wait for our end product!
Practise makes perfect!
This week during PE we have practised for our upcoming Sports Day! We have practised a sprint, sack races and an assault course.
Dino Disco!
Today year 2 had a visit from CBSO Hybrid Orchestra who performed for the children. We learnt all about rhythm, tempo, pitch etc… At the end we had a dinosaur disco, great fun was had by all.
Fruit salad
Today in DT we’ve used our chipping skills to create our very own fruit salad. It was delicious!
Skara Brae

The Stone Age
In History we have being learning learning about are human ancestors. We looked at cave paintings created in the Stone Age. We learnt that these were found all over the world and often depicted animals. We explored how these paintings can tell us about life in the Stone Age.
Internet searching
In computing we have continued to look at effective searching online. Today we have used our searching skills to answer questions about Dinosaurs. We have looked at how when we search online it creates a digital footprint.
