Jack and the Mermaid Lagoon
This week we have planned to write an alternative version of Jack and the Beanstalk! The children thought of some great ideas. We have changed the Giant to a Mermaid and instead of a beanstalk, Jack will dive into a crystal, clear lagoon to the Mermaid’s castle!
Multiskills- Balancing
In PE we have being looking at balancing on different body parts, and what we can do to stay balanced.
Forest School
Today we have enjoyed bug hunting, mud painting, making wands by tying knots and making observational drawings of insects.
Oh I do like to be beside the Seaside!
Last week we learnt about the physical features of the seaside and this week we are learning about the human features. We were able to draw on our own experiences from the Seaside and enjoy the images and discussions about the following - lighthouse, promenade, pier, arcades and lifeboats.
Jack and the Beanstalk
We have worked in groups to create an adjective word bank to help us to describe Jack, the Giant and the Beanstalk. We can use these to support our writing!
World Book Day
We celebrate World Book Day by cosying up with a good book and a hot chocolate.
Music fun!
Today we have started our new topic of ‘Knowing different sounds’. We have listed to a new piece of music and used the glockenspiels to compose our own song.

Be an Architect
In art we have learned all about architects and looking at different perspectives of of buildings and other structures. We looked at some famous buildings including the Taj Mahal, we then drew parts of the architecture to help us understand other people's work.
Garage Band enrichment
Our Garage Band superstars produced some fantastic music including in a dance style, acoustic and even music from other cultures.
Den building!
Year two showed our school values today by working together in teams to create and build a den. They showed super team work, determination, communication skills and friendship by supporting and encouraging eachother.
I pad painting
Today we used our i pad to create pictures of hedgehogs. We used different colours and techniques to draw their spikes, spines and to add detail to our picture.
