Today we had our first Latin lesson using our textbooks. We learned how to ask somebody who they were and how to reply. We then labelled a Latin family with their names, learning that for males ‘us’ is added at the end of his name and for a female ‘a’ is added at the end of her name.

We moved onto exploring 3 digit numbers today by partitioning them into their separate parts. We looked at numbers using dienes to understand what 3 digit numbers look like before writing addition number sentences using what we found out.

We developed our fine motor skills by using tweezers to move objects onto different lines and shapes. We showed brilliant concentration and determination to keep going and complete our shapes. In maths we used the base ten to help us flexibly partition numbers to 100. We created two groups and wrote the number sentences. This helped us see that numbers can be made up in different ways.

In computing today we used the I pads to help us search safely online. We used purple mash to search different topics and apply filters. 

Sharks class identified features of setting descriptions by text marking and annotating many WAGOLLs before creating our own checklist of an effective setting description.

This half term we have started our new topic in Science entitled ‘Animals including Humans’. In one of our lessons, we made model hearts using balloons, plastic cups, red food dye and straws! Although it got a little messy we had great fun learning all about the human heart!
