Collaborative Computing - Narwhals and Dolphins
Today for computing, the Narwhals and Dolphins have worked together on their computing work! As you may remember Narwhals had a visitor who taught them how to use the app ‘Clips’, due to technical difficulties Dolphins did not get a chance to complete this. So today Narwhals have had the job of…
Computing
Today we used the laptops to practice changing, the font, letter size and the colour of our font.
Exploring computers
Today in computing we used the programme word. We used the different tools to edit our writing changing the size, colour and style.
Incredible I pads
This Year we are extremely lucky to all have our very own iPads in class. Today we had some fantastic training, teaching us how to use them to further enhance our learning. Using the story of Little Red Riding Hood, linked to our writing text, we learned how to record our voices and add them to…
iPad Training
We were lucky enough to have a special visitor in school to teach us how to use our iPads for learning. We used an app called KeyNote to create our own story of Hansel and Gretel using pictures, audio and text. We had SO much fun and showed our visitor what an amazing school we are! Well…
E safety
In computing today we used the I pads to help us search safely online. We used purple mash to search different topics and apply filters.
Staying safe online
Sharks proved their understanding of staying safe online by playing and creating games where we collected safe online content such as firewalls and avoided dangerous items such as PEGI 18.
Impressionist Art
We spent our Computing lesson using a painting programme to create our own Impressionist Style artwork. Look at this wonderful example: Night Sky by Izzy
Cool coding!
Year Five Dolphins really enjoyed designing their own environments for their games in Computing this week!
Evaluating simulations
In computing we have been using simulation programs to help us problem solve and evaluate our decisions. Today we were in training to become astronauts, we had to go through a series of tasks to help our comrades.
Game Designer!
Definitely my favourite kind of lesson, the children have been creating their own design for a game today, we’ve had creative freedom to make an environment we love with control over the sky, ceiling, floor and even fire/water obstacles! The children have thoroughly enjoyed this and it was great…
Fantastic floor robots
As part of our DT topic ‘Floor Robots’, Sharks class have created an input for our Bee-Bot before observing its output. We were very impressed with how clever Bill the Bee-Bot was following our input!
