Buddy Reading
Today, during our celebrations for World Book Day we shared stories with Year 6. We loved our buddy reading time and can’t wait to do it again soon.

We finished the day with hot chocolates and biscuits, they went down a treat.
World Book Day Fun
This morning for World Book Day we have been looking at the story Matilda. We drew our favourite character from the text and used our iPads to animate them and bring them to life. We had so much fun doing this and the result was fantastic. Look out for the video to follow!
Funky Fingers
Today in funky fingers our year 2 children got creative peg boards! They created some amazing patterns! They also made some very impressive structures with the construction straws!

Forest school - tied up in knots
Today we had lots of fun during our first Forest School session. We used sticks to create our very own pictures frames. We used string to attach the sticks together and worked hard to tie the string and make knots. Once completed we took pictures using our frames. We can’t wait for next weeks…
Garage Band enrichment
Our Garage Band superstars produced some fantastic music including in a dance style, acoustic and even music from other cultures.
Super shapes!
Today we have been looking at the number of sides a 2D shape has. We worked hard to investigate what 3, 2D shapes we could create using only 15 lolly sticks.
Gymnastics!
We have been doing Gymnastics this half term on a Friday with Miss Cawley. We have used our body to make shapes such as a pike, tuck, straddle. Today we have begun to practise different jumps. We really enjoy our PE lessons!
Scientists at work!
To end our Science topic - Animals including Humans. We have carried out an investigation answering the question ‘What animals live in our School grounds?’ We made a prediction using our scientific knowledge of animal groups and then used our IPads to take photographs of the wildlife that we found…
Letter Larry
Today we identified the features of a letter with the help of Letter Larry. We used talk for writing to help us recall the key features.
