Our year two funky fingers learned how to finger knit! With patience and skill we made some colourful bangles! 

Today in science and as part of our spring topic, the children have been looking at matching farm animal mothers to their offspring. We looked at animals such as cows, sheep, chickens and horses. They were able to name the animals and their young and match them up correctly. 

We enjoyed playing the glockenspiels for the first time this week! We played along to nursery rhymes, first of all matching the rhythm, and then tapping to the beat!

Today we have started our new DT topic of automata animals, this has been presented to us linked to the WWF and our first task was to investigate the way animals moved and what sort of environment they lived in, we looked at a range of animals such as tortoises and penguins!

In our History lesson this week, Y6 explored the two Greek city-states of Athens and Sparta. We showcased our learning through drawing the key elements of the Greek city-states and annotating our drawings identifying the different buildings and areas that would have been found in each of the…

As part of World Book Day, Y6 completed an Art task based on the book ‘Art & Max’. We used paint to create the dot designs on our lizards inspired by the characters from the text. I’m sure you will agree that the children did a fantastic job of them!

We have done lots of learning about minibeasts this week. Identifying different minibeasts we find in the garden and their habitats. The children have been using fine motor skills to catch the minibeasts with tweezers. We have completed observational drawings, minibeast tracing and building…

This weekend it will be Mother’s Day and the children have made cards to show their love and appreciation for everything you do. We talked about everything our family does for us and how this makes us feel. We had some lovely ideas as to why we love you.

Today, during our celebrations for World Book Day we shared stories with Year 6. We loved our buddy reading time and can’t wait to do it again soon. 

We finished the day with hot chocolates and biscuits, they went down a treat. 

This morning for World Book Day we have been looking at the story Matilda. We drew our favourite character from the text and used our iPads to animate them and bring them to life. We had so much fun doing this and the result was fantastic. Look out for the video to follow!

We have took part in lots of activities today to celebrate world book day. We sequenced the story, made caterpillar hats, had buddy reading with year 3 and ended out day with hot chocolate and biscuits and a lovely story.
